The real fact is that if there is any difficulty with others, that is my
lack of Krsna consciousness, not theirs. Is this clear? Krsna says that His
dearest devotee is one who does not put others into difficulty, in fact, who
puts no one other into difficulty.

Allen Ginsberg was always accusing me, “Swamiji, you are very conservative and strict.” Actually, I told him that “I am never strict, neither I am conservative. If I become conservative, then I cannot live here for a moment. So I’m not at all conservative.”

No, you should always remember that either grhastha or
brahmacari or sannyasi, nobody can strictly follow all the rules and
regulations of them. In the Kali-yuga it is not possible. So if I find
simply fault with you, and if you find fault with me, then it will be
factional, and our real business will be hampered.

A human being is required to accumulate daivi sampat, or spiritual assets;
otherwise, the next alternative, asuri sampat, or material assets, will
overcome him disproportionately, and thus one will be forced into the
entanglement of different miseries of the material world.

There was a poetry by Rabindranath Tagore. The purport of the poetry is that
one who is mischievous, he is culprit. But one who tolerates mischievous
activity, he is also culprit. If you are mischievous, you are criminal. But
if you tolerate mischievous activities that is also criminal.

The devotees of the Lord, while delivering speeches and describing the
transcendental attributes of the Lord, do not think that they can do
anything independently. They think that they can speak only what they are
induced to speak by the Supreme Lord, the master of the senses… No one is
free to act freely and independently, and as such, one should always seek
the permission of the Lord to act or eat or speak.

When a hungry man is given food to eat, he feels satiation
of hunger and the pleasure of dining simultaneously. Thus he does not have
to ask whether he has actually been fed or not. The crucial test of hearing
Srimad-Bhagavatam is that one should get positive enlightenment by such an
act.

I forgive you one time. I forgive you two times. The third time, I take off my shoe. …Actually, the spiritual master is unlimitedly merciful…But do not take
advantage.

A pure devotee is kept in the hands of Krishna just like a precious jewel. When
you hold something precious in your hand, you are very careful, and similarly,
Krishna holds the devotee and takes care of him.

You have to spend or waste gallons of blood before you can convert a person
to Krsna consciousness. It is so difficult task. By talking with him, with
the rascal and foolish. You tax your brain and spoil your energy, blood.

If a gentleman simply reads the Srimad-Bhagavatam quietly at home, he will be
fully conversant, fully aware of what is God.

“Society, friendship, and love, divinely bestowed upon man.” They say.
(laughs) It is not divinely bestowed. It is not. It is entanglement. It is
entanglement.
